by Jeff Harrison & Karen Charboneau-Harrison
Chokmah is the Creative Self, the 2nd Sephira of the Supernal Triad, with the title of Wisdom. Its influence is considered to be boundless energy and the divine stimulation of all actions. Chokmah is seen to be God in His lust for life and life giving capabilities. Chokmah is pure dynamism and pure stimulus without formed expression. Chokmah is pure force in action. Chokmah is known as Wisdom - this wisdom is the perfect knowledge of the Essence of Divinity, an abstract wisdom. This Sephira is pure dynamism, and is the embodiment of the Divine Will for Creation. by Karen Charboneau-Harrison
Crystal Gazing is a type of SCRYING (meaning to descry, to observe, to see). Scrying is an old English term for divining by gazing at an object, whether it be a pool of water, a mirror, a shining orb or a crystal ball to foretell past, present or future events. Naturally enough, crystallomancy is practiced with a crystal ball and tradition dictates the use of a ball shaped from rock crystal, which is a clear and colorless quartz. Rock crystal has the ability to define and clarify which accounts for its popularity in divination. Read more.... ![]() CELEBRATING THE SEASONS OF LIFE: SAMHAIN TO OSTARA
by Ashleen O'Gaea
Unique among books about the Wiccan Sabbats, Celebrating the Seasons of Life: Samhain to Ostara takes a different approach to explaining the holidays by taking an in-depth look at half of the Wheel of the Year. Rather than dissecting each holiday, Ashleen's goal is to take a broader look at them, explaining how and why we celebrate each, along with how the celebration of one leads to the next. Ashleen includes ideas for rituals that are ideal for practicing solitaries, covens, or Wiccan families, with special sections on what children of various ages are ready to learn about these holidays. The final months of 2005 provide lots of activity. Mars will turn retrograde in the 24th degree of Taurus on 10/1. A Solar Eclipse/New Moon occurs in the 11th degree of Libra, on 10/3. Venus moves into Sagittarius on the 7th, remaining there till November 5th and lightening moods considerably. Mercury transits into Scorpio 10/8, fostering your ability to delve deeply and see into your own and others' behavior. A Lunar Eclipse occurs 10/17, in the 25th degree of Aries. The Sun enters Scorpio on 10/23, followed by Jupiter on the 25th. Both these events greatly enhances Mars' journey into the inner recesses of personal motivation. Neptune goes direct on 10/26, in the 15th degree of Aquarius. Neptune traverses one sign over roughly fourteen years, slowly dissolving previous conceptions of what that sign represents. Finally, Mercury moves into Sagittarius on the 30th, meaning that although it will require some effort, you'll be able to see the "big picture". Find out what this means for you in October.... ![]() RITUAL OF EMPOWERING
by Karen Charboneau-Harrison
Many people have a special object or piece of jewelry which symbolizes their beliefs or represents their goals. This can sometimes be a symbol of their faith such as a Pentagram or Cross or can be a piece of jewelry which has semi-precious stones set in it for particular magickal purposes. This jewelry is often used for specific goals - protection, to draw success or love, health, etc - and should be charged or empowered to allow the piece to be utilized most effectively. You can charge or empower your jewelry in a ceremony which is simple yet very powerful. Read the rest of this article.... ![]() HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
Halloween (Samhain) is the traditional Celtic New Year's Eve. It is the beginning of the dark period of the year which will gradually give birth to a new sun and new life. It is the beginning of the gestation period for the coming year and of the future. This is a time to let old habits die and to meditate on who we wish to become. The Winter months are months to muse inward, seeking one's Self. Spend this time in your studies, calm meditations and gentle reverie so that, come spring, you may rise renewed, rejuvenated, fresh and whole. Read the rest of this article..... |
