February 2008
What is illusion and what is not may well be the issue over the weeks ahead. The month that brings us waxing light and Candlemas begins with the Sun, Mercury and Neptune traveling through the sign of the extremist, Aquarius, providing us with much to talk and think about.
Venus and Jupiter are in Capricorn, acting as morning stars encouraging us to optimistically move forward with our highest goals and objectives.
Mars, the planet of action, slowly begins forward momentum while the planetary communicator, Mercury, backs up into (apparent) retrograde motion stimulating the need to finish up, review, revisit what was left incomplete, particularly (for some) from last October/November.
Saturn as the evening star in Virgo encourages us to take notice and responsibility for what we value and share with others.
The revolutionary, Uranus, in Pisces stirs up resource matters this month, providing insights into how 'real' we have been regarding personal investments of time, energy and/or money.
The Aquarius New Moon, which is also an annular solar eclipse, occurs on 2/6 at 8:44 PM inviting us to make a commitment to a creative collective endeavor that supports global well-being. Endeavors begun with a service and altruistic consciousness will have great success at this time.
Venus moves into Aquarius on 2/17 as Mercury moves out of retrograde on 2/18, both supporting teamwork.
The Sun enters sensitive and psychic Pisces on 2/18 at 11:49 PM MST. Its presence in this sign lends greater magic and mysticism to ceremony and collaborative endeavors. This year Pisces is learning about relationships, which to keep and which to release. Remember that those who challenge us can also be our teachers.
The Pisces/Virgo Full Moon on 2/20 at 8:30 PM MST is a total lunar eclipse. With Saturn conjoined the Moon and Neptune's 12th House presence there is a highly Karmic energy operating. We are being held accountable for our past associations and the level of consciousness we contributed. Pisces and Virgo are signs of service; any visions embarked upon must serve the greater whole in some way.
March 2008
March opens with a last quarter Moon stimulating progressive movement into extraordinary possibilities. With the planetary emphasis in the communicative air element be aware of what you 'voice'. The power of one's word is greatest when the air signs dominate.
Mars moves into Cancer on 3/5 stimulating action on the home front, aligning with the compassionate Pisces Sun favoring taking a gamble with your heart.
The intense Pisces New Moon on 3/7 at 10:14 AM MST conjoins with Uranus, planet of surprise and innovation, encouraging us to be open to the revolutionary.
Venus on 3/13 and then Mercury 3/15 both move into Pisces further enhancing the karmic dream quality of this month. The devic and angelic realms will share their wisdom if we slow down and listen. Your heart recognizes the truth.
Pluto has now moved past 1 degree of Capricorn and presently begins the seeding of this sign. Pluto journeys through Capricorn from 2008-2024. As the planetoid of generational transformation and irrevocable change, wherever Pluto traverses there occurs a great shift in humanity's consciousness about the issues represented by that sign. During Pluto's journey through Sagittarius we became more aware of social views and expectations concerning religion, sports heroes, political law and processes, foreign cultures and relations, higher education and public servants, to name a few. In the sign of Capricorn our views and expectations concerning government, big business, worldly power, treatment of the elderly, and our country's infrastructures will undoubtedly be experienced and altered. Pluto brings to light what has been hidden, operating in the subterranean realms of the individual and collective.
On 3/19 at 11:48 PM MDT, the Sun enters Aries and spring begins. Now the night and daylight hours are equal. At this time the weighing of personal and shared resources arises for a reality check. Do we feel there is an equitable exchange of time and energy for dollars received or gratitude given? Aries likes to lead but resists collaboration, yet pooling resources and working together in a supportive manner can support freedom. This is a sign that needs to be active to feel healthy and this is a year that demands a committed health regimen for Aries well being.
The Aries/Libra Full Moon occurs on 3/21 at 11:21 AM MDT and is in challenging aspects to intense and obsessive Pluto as well as the warrior planet, Mars. The balance, or not, of power between self and other can provide insight to the psychological workings of yourself and those to whom you are closest.
April 2008
The zodiacal line up this first week finds the Sun the sole representative of the enthusiastic fire element. The prominence of earth and water indicates that in the early days of the month, wrapping up practical matters will outweigh the launch of a new project.
On 4/2 Pluto starts to retrace his tentative steps into Capricorn with a move back into Sagittarius in June where he will remain until December.
Mercury, planet of travel, moves into speedy Aries also on 4/2.
The dynamic Aries New Moon occurs on 4/5 at 8:55 PM MDT. With Mars in Cancer creating a trying aspect to this Lunation, impatience and irritability may run high while Jupiter in Capricorn further amps up this energy increasing the desire for immediate results at the risk of prudence. The action and pleasure oriented Aries dynamic is challenged to address a more wholistic approach to security and tribal issues. The desire to do one's 'own thing' will have to take into consideration the effect on the 'we' rather than just the 'me'. With the Moon perigee (closest to the earth) and Mercury apogee (furthest from the earth) at this time we feel (Moon) issues strongly at the risk of our objectivity (Mercury).
Mercury moves into staid Taurus on 4/17, as does the Sun on 4/19. The Taurus/Scorpio Full Moon also known as the Wesak Moon occurs on 4/20 at 4:25 AM MDT. Wesak is the celebration of the Buddha's birth and is a time when ascended light beings gather on earth to impart a blessing. This Full Moon's easy link to Saturn and Pluto favors shamanic orientated activities as well as business endeavors. By releasing the focus on past mistakes that imprison one in self-doubt, instead favoring decisions that support personal integrity and mastery, we empower the future we want rather than the past we regret.
The spectacular link between Mars and Uranus for the last 10 days of April provides the creative spark to overcome any challenges.
