October

October opens with the Libra Sun in a sociable planetary grand trine in air. Libras are the mediator, peacemaker and clever strategist once they make up their mind. Libra's main concern is creating, maintaining, and enjoying harmony. Venus, the planetary ruler of Libra, enters fastidious Virgo on 10/8 and fast approaches regimented Saturn, enhancing the desire for perfection over the next month. The Libra New Moon occurs on 10/10 with the Sun/Moon trining Neptune, favoring diplomacy and anything to do with the Arts.

Mercury begins its retrograde in Scorpio on 10/11 giving us a chance to perfect whatever we have in process. Mercury re-enters Libra on 10/23 giving us another chance to purchase what we felt we couldn't during Venus's summer retrograde. This does not, however, favor impulse buying, and save your receipts to any acquisition made at this time, as you may change you mind once Mercury goes direct on 11/1.

On 10/23 the Sun enters provocative Scorpio. This is the sign of the detective, the hypnotist, and shaman.

The Taurus Full Moon occurs on 10/25 with relationship orientated Venus opposed by the rebel Uranus and both squared by Jupiter amping up the intensity and excitement level of what might otherwise be a languid Moon.

Halloween finds the Moon in Cancer providing lots of nourishing treats and not so many tricks until just before midnight when the Moon moves into Leo, a sign that loves to put on a show while Neptune returns to forward motion enhancing the extraordinary and mystical.

November

November also begins with a planetary grand trine, although now it is in the emotional water element. The Sun, Mars and Uranus create a stimulating triangle in the heavens for the first two weeks promoting intuition and creativity.

Mercury now resumes direct motion.

The Scorpio New Moon occurs on 11/9 with a confusion-inducing square to absentminded Neptune, though with the trines from Mars and Uranus still in play, one's psychic sixth sense may save the day.

Communication ruling Mercury moves from affable Libra into secretive Scorpio on the 11/10.

Mars the planetary energizer begins his 2 ½ month retrograde cycle in Cancer's sign on 11/15. Mars retrograde lends greater introspection to exploits. This is traditionally considered a poor sign placement for Mars. Mars wants to do things, take action, rush in and does not care for being cautious. When Mars is in Cancer, we are more likely to take things personally and get upset about things that we normally take in our stride. Greater thought and less impulse must be applied to domestic and family matters while Mars resides in Cancer.

The Sun enters scintillating Sagittarius on 11/22. All centaurs love a good feast so it is only fitting that this happens on Thanksgiving Day.

Mercury keeps the emotional grand trine in operation for another few days while its challenging aspect to Neptune advises keeping your Thanksgiving holiday libations to a minimum unless you are up for some surprisingly maudlin displays or the rehashing of old family rivalries.

The Gemini Full Moon occurs on 11/24 with Mercury's square to Neptune continuing to dominate the energies. Misunderstandings can easily lead to grudges; consider the impact of one's words especially with family members. Uranus also returns to direct motion on this day encouraging conscious acts of self-sacrifice in the world in the months ahead.
